The research and development unit has several levels of activity in order to improve the operation of DESA’s production units to achieve the vision and objective of the company.
Evaluate the operation of each production unit and discover potential sources of savings without compromising the quality and quantity of the products.
Evaluate the technology and the methodology used to obtain different products and propose, more adequate technology and/or methods.
Research and development of new methods, products or technologies related directly with production.
Analyze, evaluate and propose strategic solutions related to technology, methodology and development linked to the company’s vision.
The tools to accomplish these 4 activities are: expert personnel and/or undergraduate or graduate students in different fields such as biology, agriculture, forestry, chemistry, mechanics, statistics, etc.
Within the next 2 to 3 years, these activities will be accompanied with the necessary laboratories and equipments to carry out the research and development tasks.
